Jan from DaisyJanie sent out a call for volunteers to help her with a Project Linus quilt. That’s right up my ally! She sent out 8 Geo Grand charms and a request to make a block (absolutely any type you want) , using only the charms (no additional fabric), with as little scrap as possible. WOW! That’s a challenge I didn’t think I could pass up…plus its for a very good cause.
When the charms arrived I couldn’t wait to start my block. I looked at several different block types and none of them floated my boat. So I just started laying the charms out on the drawing board and voila! an idea formed very quickly. I love it when that happens!
With no written plan, not even a sketch I started cutting, arranging, sewing (and yes, a little ripping out
).
Here’s the result. I think it turned out very well if I do say so myself.
SWEET!
DaisyJanie fabrics are certified Organic and are absolutely a delight to work with. They ran through my machine like butter. I wish all fabrics I worked with were that wonderful! You should get some toot suite!
After that, I was on a roll.
I started a wallhanging for my studio and got far enough that I can take it on my trip tomorrow and do a little hand quilting.
That’s my Sunday, how was yours???

Those colors on that cute wall hanging look VERY familiar! I wonder how orange thread would look on it?
Probably pretty nice! LOL I am nothing if not predictable. I had to stop myself from buying more of the same trend fabrics in California last week. I have a nice Aurifil orange…..hmmmm……
Love your Daisy Jane block! I agree, her fabrics are wonderful! They were so fun to work with. Your wall hanging is gorgeous, too.
