Sunday WIP

Thought I would add a Sunday update to JustPlainLaine to make sure I blog at least once a week.  I even put it on my calendar. So without further ado….JustPlainLaine Work-in-Process Week 1.

This week flew by so fast.  I am glad to have at least one day in my studio!  Grin  Next week will be a little more sane, but not much.  I need to complete blocks for my quilt bees.  My internet has been down, but seems to be cooperating now.  Keeping my fingers crossed.

Cinnamon's Quilt ShoppeLast Sunday I interviewed the owner of a local quilt shoppe – Karen from Cinnamon’s Quilt Shoppe.  What a wonderful woman and an unbelievable brick and mortar store!   You will see the interview here in a week or so, but be sure and check out her website (and shop) before then.

Over at Jaybird Quilts, Julie is publishing a Tutorial called Binding Basics.  Ohmygoodness…..I’ve been waiting for this for a long time.  She makes very easy to understand tutorials.  Please check this one (and the others) out.  Binding Basics

Stash report. I haven’t been following the group at Patchwork Times reporting their fabric in-fabric out counts, mainly because I couldn’t follow the rules! lol You are supposed to have more going out than coming in (thereby using up your stash). Is there a quilter out there that would be totally honest?    hmmmmmm…..

For me, 8 yards came in, almost all for two quilt alongs I am participating in with Cherry House Quilts.  Kona solids in beautiful colors for the Pomegranate and Grey color schemes.  Yum Yum!

As for out…..the Friends projects isn’t quite complete (my real job keeps interfering with my quilt projects), but when it is, it will be 11 out this year.

Friends Projects – Four are complete except for final touches.  I had to wait on a delivery of embellishments due to the extreme weather.  I keep changing my mind about Max’s book.  He turned 6 months you know…probably time for some big boy fabric.

WIP – I am participating in three Quilt Bees and boy are they ever fun!   I love seeing what other people come up with and the process they use to create beautiful and unique quilt blocks for other people.  Check out First Time Bee, Simple Modern Quilt Bee and Go Beyond Quilt Bee at

That’s the Sunday Work-in-Process report.  Thanks for tuning in.

Happy Quilting and SMILE!
